Service Grid Revisions & Required CAFAS Fields
for 7/1/09

The Service Grid is being revised effective 7/1/09.  These revisions are taking place consistent with changes in DHHS-MaineCare policy and requirements.

1. Community Rehabilitation Services procedure code has been added for Adult Mental Health Services.

2. Hospital Services

1. A code for General Hospital Prior Authorization has been added for Adult, Child & Substance Abuse Services

3. Nursing Facility Services

1. 4 codes for use with the PASRR program have been added.

4. Targeted Case Management Codes have been changed to require a Contact for Service Notification.

5. Children’s PNMI Services have been changed to allow only a Prior Authorization (no Registration) at time of admission.

In APS CareConnection®, the CAFAS Assessment tool fields are now required fields for TCM and HCT services.

1. The CAFAS Fields are located in the Symptoms & Behaviors and Discharge Pages.

2. The CAFAS subscale score fields are required.

3. Submit the date that the CAFAS was completed in the date field named “Date LOCUS Completed (most recent).”  Even though this field is labeled “LOCUS” it will be reported to DHHS as a CAFAS completed date.

When entering the CAFAS scores into APS CareConnection®, CAFAS Rater ID must be entered into the Rater ID field.
