Provider Update 2/22/08
Important CareConnection Tips:
To confirm that a request has been authorized the Current Status of the request must be “Care Manager Authorized”. The Current Status can be found in either the Download Notification or under the
Search Responses tab, by selecting the View link for individual requests/APS Case ID's.
A Continued Stay Request with an Authorization Number does not mean that the request has been authorized unless the Current Status is also “Care Manager Authorized”.
At times, before a request can be completed, APS clinicians need additional information from providers. A New Status of a request (such as “Hold for Provider Info”) and Provider Notes in the Download
Notification provide instructions to providers that additional information is required by APS. Providers should monitor the Download Notification for such instructions and follow up with APS as requested so
that the request can be completed.
Planned CareConnection Updates:
1. The changes in certain fields in CareConnection planned for 2/15 are now expected to be effective in CareConnection 3/15/08. We apologize for the delay.
2. In early March, requests for PNMI services and Section 65 Crisis Units will be required to choose the location where those services are being delivered.
Service Grid Revised
The Service Grid has been revised;
1. Children’s Services, for 65M-MST and 65M FFT services, authorization days and units have been corrected.
2. Section 111 Services, SA095 is now correctly labeled as PhD-LCPC-LCSW Add. Cert Group Therapy and SA096 is now correctly labeled as PhD-LCPC-LCSW Add. Cert Family Therapy
Review Form Changes
1. A field for “location” has been added to the “Service Request” section of all forms, and is to be used specifically for PNMI and Section 65 Crisis Unit Services.
2. A “Yes/No” Question has been added to the Prior Authorization and Continued Stay Request forms, and will be included in CareConnection 3/15/08. In the “Treatment and Service History” section, if the answer is “yes” to the question: “Member has Co-Occurring Disorders” then a required “Yes/No” question will be: “Is the Member receiving integrated MH/SA services”.
3. A text field for a “Problem Statement” has been added to the treatment plan on the Continued Stay Request Form and will be in CareConnection 3/15/08.
