APS CareConnection® updates:
The following APS CareConnection® System Updates will be operational 1/31/08 (Screen shots for these changes will be included in the User Manual)
- LOCUS/CAFAS fields will accept only numerical values. The CAFAS will sum the subscales and provide a total score.
- Discharges will only be possible for the most recent review, for open treatment episodes.
- The use of the EXT feature to create a Continued Stay Review has been modified to ensure that the same PA number is used throughout a treatment episode in both APS CareConnection® and MECMS. Step by Step, changes
are as follows:
Search Request Page
1. EXT – Extension request (for a Continued Stay Review) will copy all services from the original request into the Extension record.
2. There will be a new field on the Service Request screen to display the MECMS PA- Authorization Number. This number will be copied from the original request.
3. The Start Date of the service requested will default to the Start Date that was entered in the Administrative section.
4. The End Date will populate based on the values established in the Service Grid for the service code requested.
5. The Units will populate based on the values established in the Service Grid for the service code requested.
6. The user can modify the end date and the units.
7. The user will need to accept the service line by clicking on the “Accept” button.
8. If the service does not require an extension at this time, the user will select the “No Action” button. This will deactivate the service for this request.
9. All services will copy for each subsequent extension.
